Reviews for the The Languedoc Short Break

A short 4 day out-and-back cruise. Very memorable, very enjoyable and very relaxing. The boat was very well presented, clean and everything worked. The handover was professional too. Most memorable experience was navigating the locks as a team, and visiting small restaurants along the way. Taking it slowly was easily the best approach.
Stopped at the villages for coffee, bread and meals. Used our bikes to cycle along the paths and to venture out to nearby villages to explore
Before we describe our holiday we would like to say that Joanna at Homps dealt with our complaints sympathetically and professionally on our return. We do not usually review anything, but as we have been repeatedly asked, here are our comments:The things we were asked to specify beforehand had not been organised - double beds made up as singles, no deck cushions, no lantern. We were not supplied with a key to open the water tank, and when we asked the Port Cassafieres office about this they suggested we try using teaspoons. Key was finally brought. We drove for several hours on the upper deck in the rain as it was in no way clear how to switch the steering to the cabin. 'This catches people out all the time,' we were told when finally shown how to do it. An explanatory note in the manual, maybe? When the steering on the upper deck went wrong half way through the week it could not be fixed, so we were after that confined to driving from inside which made mooring in a crowded marina a little tricky to say the least. The engineer on this occasion was dispatched only after several hours of patronising comments from the Cassafieres office.Rain came through the roof of the main cabin, onto the bed in one of the rear cabins and onto our clothes in the wardrobe of the forward cabin. As this was the beginning of the season rather than the end we did feel that the boat should have been in better condition.Despite rather than because of Le Boat we had a great time. While we are now converts to boating holidays we would certainly not recommend them (apart from Joanna!) or use them again.
