About Horizon 3

The Horizon 3 is a bigger boat, allowing larger parties to holiday together. It sleeps up to 7 guests with one master cabin at the end of the boat and two smaller cabins, all with the privacy of their own en-suite bathrooms. It enjoys a spacious saloon and sundeck.

Please note that the following virtual tour is of the Horizon 4 boat rather than the Horizon 3, however the only difference is that the Horizon 4 has a slightly different front cabin layout.

Air cooling and air conditioning

When the temperatures soar, our cabin air cooling system can help make your night’s sleep a little more comfortable. Air cooling uses canal/river water to produce cool air which is blown out through vents.


Please note: This is not the same as air-conditioning which can achieve lower temperatures and has a thermostatic control. Performance significantly reduces if canal/river temperature is too high.

Boat was clean and fully operational. The bow and stern thrusters made handling easy. Comfort and convenience was great. The only problem was some boil off of potable water thru the hot water heater. The staff suggested some minor changes that corrected the problem. A well behaved boat, beautiful scenery and pleasant people made this vacation wonderful.

I can't say enough about our Le Boat experience in Canada on the Rideau Canal. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Kudos to Sandy. The boat, a Horizon 3, worked flawlessly and was extremely comfortable and well equipped. The Horizon 3 is designed just for this purpose. It looks the part and performed flawlessly. I have boat design experience and was hard pressed to find any significant flaws.

Checking in was smooth, and the personnel at Smiths Falls were very helpful, especially Sterling, who introduced us to the boat and gave us all the information we needed to manage the trip. Introduced many during the trip to le boat, showing them through the craft, praising the service. Have already encouraged many of our friends to book a le boat trip on their own.

Provided excellent customer service prior to taking the boat, during the cruise where they had to deliver another Charts & Maps book while on the cruise since we had lost it somehow, and quick and easy check-out service. Lisa, Heather and Captain Sandy provided all the necessary information in an easy to understand manner. Lots of space to move around, well equipped kitchen, sundeck, two Captain stations to drive the boat (main deck and upper deck), easy to maneuver especially aided by the side thrusters, lots of info. provided on what to see and do at the various ports.

Friendly people. Good instruction. Only issue, which was a big one, was a major delay with us getting the boat after we arrived. Arrived at 3pm and only got the boat after 6pm. Minimal apology and no thought to a possible later check out when returning. Other than that, had a great time! Had a fantastic time! Everything worked the way it should - I suspect because this was a newer boat.

We always aim to get customers underway as early as we can but this is not always possible due to operational constraints. Wir hatten einen absolut gelungenen Urlaub! Angefangen hat das Ganze schon mit einem perfekten Service bei unserer Buchungen. Einen besonderen Dank hier an Laurie Hudson-Craig! Die Übernahme unseres Bootes, eine Horizon 3 ab Smith Falls war völlig unkompliziert und alle Mitarbeiter an der Station waren super nett. Wir haben die 10 Tage an Bord absolut genossen. Der Rideau Canal ist als Fahrgebiet super einfach und angenehm - und vor allem im Juni noch ziemlich ruhig und kein bisschen überlaufen oder hektisch. Das Boot war in einem super Zustand. Die Ausstattung hat keine Wünsche offen gelassen.
