Wonderful Wildlife

The waterways are home to some of Europe’s finest wetland birds and wildlife. Try and spot a hoopoo or a flamingo, spot the herons before they spot you and pray for the privilege of watching otters at play on the riverbanks. Don’t forget your binoculars! Some of the best places for wildlife-spotting are the: Etang de Thau (Camargue); the Po Delta nature reserve (Porto Levante); the Caledonian Canal (Scotland); Marina Wolfsbruch (Germany) and the Norfolk Broads (England).
