Reviews for the The Canal du Midi Cruise
Everything was excellent except for the fact that we paid R1020 for early check-in but could only get the boat released by 14h00
Very nice route in terms of the many small towns with markets and shops directly on the canal
Maggie Privat and the others were most helpful by phone and email regarding information and helping us choose which trip and boat. The actual pickup and return of the boats took a long time, and the shoreside facilities were sub-par. We woulddefinitely recommend this company and would do another LeBoat trip. Taxi transfers were marvelous. We enjoyed the whole trip tremendously.
Very scenic, excellent restaurants on shore in the evening. The locks were fun.
Comment fromThe Le Boat Team
Hi Carolyn, thank you for the kind words about Maggie! We are so happy to hear about your experience and look forward to welcoming you back onboard one day!
Le Boat staff all very helpful. The boat was very reliable but helped having an experienced person with us to deal with pump outs etc. Watch the water use and keep filling up.
Well equipped boat with excellent comfort for 6 people. Boat very controllable and manoeuvrableFor such a big boat. The weather was somewhat disappointing, perhaps a little early in the season in early May. The journey was easily completed in the time and we in fact went a day further and turned back round.
Every moment was memorable, from succeeding the locks to being enveloped in branches, just fun all the way. We met many like minded people and enjoyed their company en route. Carcassone and Homps were 2 of our favourite stays.b
We would always recommend going in one direction and not doing a return cruise, new things to see everyday. Those we met that were returning regretted not doing a one way.
A fantastic trip from castelnaudry to homps. A week was more than enough time to cover this distance. We travelled at the end of may (during english half term), and the canal was very quiet, allowing us to get quickly through locks. Journey could therefore take longer during the busy season. We were hampered by bad weather but still had the most fabulous time. The sun of course would have made it perfect!
Take a day in carcassone. It's old city is amazing.
