Things to do in Traves

Why do we recommend stopping here?

This is another village on a branch of river which has been by-passed. It is rural and peaceful, yet all facilites are available at the waterside development of Saône-Valley residential park & leisure centre.

Is this place famous for anything?

The "rocks" of Traves and Aroz. These two megaliths rising up out of the countryside with strange hole formations remain a mystery. They probably mark a place of cult worship, although the identity of the cult is not known.

Insider Information

The channel down to Traves is very shallow near the banks. Try to stay in mid-stream to avoid grounding.

Is there a golf course here or nearby?

There is a small 18-hole public course on parkland at Noidans-le-Vesoul, about ten kms away by road.
