What is there to see?

Just 6KMs away is the glassworks at Passavant-la-Rochère ( see SELLES page) ,

Is this place famous for anything?

This village was the regional headquarters of The Resistance during World War 2. Many French patriots laid their plans here, and many were caught and executed. There is a monument and a museum dedicated to them.

Is there a market day?

A small market takes place on Thursday mornings , a good source of local fruit & vegetables.

Best places to drink an aperitif?

For an informal drink, there is the Café de la Poste, 4 rue Emile Hauviller; or the hotel-restaurant café du Centre on the main street.

Budget restaurant

The Marina of Corre has its own bar/restaurant overlooking the basin.
Atmosphere: Modern, airy and comfortable.
Cuisine: Good cuisine, typical of the region.

Moderately priced restaurant

The Hotel Restaurant du Centre, which also opens a terrace in good weather.
Address: On the main street in the centre of the village.
Atmosphere: A"homely" ambience , a change from being at the water's edge.

What other shops are there??

The daily essentials can be bought at the little ECOMARCHE, close to the church. There is also a bakery, a butchery, and a tobacconist where they also sell fishing licences.
Opening Hours: The shops are normally open from 08h30 to 12h00, and from 15h00 to 19h00.

Mooring

There are two possibilities: either the town quay, close to the lock; or the new marina of Fluvial Loisirs. Both of these locations charge a small fee for an overnight stop.
