The Pleasure Beach is great for adults and kids, joyland for the under 5's, there is various museums and a sealife centre, there is a good range of shopping facilities, Hippodrome Circus, Marina Centre, Cinema, Pirtes Cove adventure golf, Merrivale Model Village and various amusement arcades.

Nelson was born here, and a monument was built in 1819 for him
